Removing comments and sidebar off pages
-
I am testing css customisation on a mirror blog using the Oulipo theme. I want to create very clean pages with only the fixed left menu in place. Can I get rid of the sidebar and the comments using css customisation on just the pages?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Comments you can turn off page by page in the page editor. Scroll down below the text area in the editor to the discussion module and uncheck “allow comments.”
`.page #supplementary {display: none; }
.page #entry-content {width:41em; }The above gets rid of the sidebar on static pages, and also widens the page contenet area by the width of the sidebar (11em).

Shoot, I messed up on the tickmarks.
.page #supplementary {display: none; } .page #entry-content {width:41em; } -

Thanks for your help thesacredpath. The sidebar is now gone. :-) Sadly though, I don’t have the discussion area where it would normally be on the page editor, just a Sharing button. Would that be because my test blog isn’t visible to the public yet?

No, it could be that it is turned off. At the top of the page editor page, on the right side, click “screen options and click the check box for the discussion module.
