Removing comments from my opening page
-
On my opening page there are 13 comments about this, in fairly large font which, to my eye, takes away from the rest of the page. Is there any way these comments can be moved elsewhere or removed from ?this page or reduced in size so that they are not so dominant.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Yes, you can disable the comments on your opening page using this link. https://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-and-disable-comments-for-published-posts-and-pages/
Here’s a link for disabling comments for future posts. https://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments-for-future-posts-pages/

That’s not going to do what Maris is asking to do. She wants to reduce the number of comments displayed on the front page. See here:
5. Break comments into pages with __ comments per page and the __ last page displayed by default – If your posts/pages get a lot of comments, you may want to split the comments into pages. You can choose how many top level comments (nested comments are not counted and will not be split between two pages) to show for each page. You can also choose which page to show by default when a visitor first views the comments.

timethief- My suggestion will help with part of her question that asks if the comments can be removed from the page. I’m glad that both of our suggestions can help Maris with her question :).

Neither one will result in what maristravels wants.
1. She does not want to disable comments on the front page totally.
2. Doing all that she can do, which is what I provided above, will not apply only to the front page but to every page in the site.

Hi maristravels! There’s no way to move these comments, but you can close the comments on your front page so you don’t get any more there.
To do that, visit the page:
https://travelsineuropeandasia.wordpress.com/
And in the lower right hand corner, click on the ‘Edit’ link or the pencil icon. Then in the sidebar, find “More Options” and expand it. Then uncheck the box next to “Allow Comments” and update the page.
Next, if you’d like to remove the comments from the front page, you’ll have to head into the comments editor. Here is a link to all of the posts that are on your front page:
The best way to remove them is to click ‘delete’ on each comment. However, this will move them to the trash where they will be permanently deleted after 30 days.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions about this.

Many thanks to all who took the time to reply to my query and helping with the problem of removing comments. I have removed all but two comments which, I think, makes the page look less messy. Maybe it’s the theme, but I seem to have had other pages where the comments didn’t look so enormous as against the post.
All’s well now, however, so thanks again to everyone who helped me with this problem.
