removing custom domain name
-
I cannot remove my old custom domain name from the record. We have taken that domain name off the WordPress registry and have pointed it to another IP Address. But when we try to visit our WP site, using the *****.wordpress.com URL, we get an error saying that custom domain has expired. We know that but it keeps the public from being able to access our wordpress site.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh no! This blog’s domain agoraweamc.com expired 13 days ago!
All visitors have to do is click the “x” Dismiss link.
I tagged this thread for Staff to remove the domain mapping. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Are you logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade? That’s required.
Provided you are logged in under the same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrades, you ought to be able to to go to Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and click the “disable auto-renew” link.

That’s just means that you are not using the same browser and version of it that I am using. You are probably running an outdated version. I am using Firefox 33, Chrome 38 and IE11 and I see the X Dismiss link in all of them. Clicking it removes the black overlay from your site. WordPress.COM supports the browsers and versions of them found at http://browsehappy.com

I checked with Chrome 38, and you are right. Went back to Safari and logged out, and then navigated to the site and the “x – dismiss” was there.
So it is really about whether I am logged in or not.Still, I would like to figure out how to not get the message at all. I assume that is the “patience” you are suggesting I exercise — that eventually staff will remove the domain mapping. Is that right?

I’ve removed that expired domain from your site. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
