REMOVING DATE / CATEGORY ON POSTS IN STAY THEME
-
I’m not sure that Stay is the right theme for me as I don’t even use the ‘rooms’ or ‘testimonials’ page and reading a bit more about WP – i may have been better off to choose a theme with a ‘portfolio’ page. So basically – I want to remove date/author/category on posts in the ‘journalism’ and ‘tv stuff’ category and I’d like to remove just the author/category on all other posts (which fall into the ‘uncategorized’ category.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can use Stay like any other conventional theme. You don’t select a theme only if you need an unusual feature it supports: you also select it if you like the way it looks, or if you like another unusual feature it supports (for example, Stay is the only theme that has a pages slider rather than a posts slider).
But do you have the Custom Design upgrade? -
Hi, sorry yes, I do have the custom design upgrade so was hoping for a CSS fix for my issues ? and yes, I chose the Stay theme just cos I liked the simple look – so hoping I can work out these tweaks with CSS.
-
I asked because you haven’t made any customization yet so I couldn’t tell if you have the upgrade or not.
To remove author and categories from all posts, paste this into the CSS editor (after you delete the entire intro message):
.single .byline, .group-blog .byline, footer.entry-meta { display: none; }To remove the date from all posts except Uncategorized, add this:
.entry-header .entry-meta { display: none; } .category-uncategorized .entry-header .entry-meta { display: block; } -
-
On another similar note – can I remove the ‘related’ links at the bottom of each individual post ?
-
You’re welcome!
(“Service” isn’t the right word: I’m not WP staff, I’m an experienced fellow blogger volunteering.)
Removing the ‘Related’ links doesn’t require any CSS: it’s a standard option, in Settings > Reading.

Hi there,
My news menu is all the ‘uncategorized’ posts. Is there a way of getting rid of the heading ‘Category Archives: Uncategorized’ -
.category-1 .page-header { display: none; }(I don’t see why you don’t want it on that page but you do want it on the other category pages.)
-
you’re right – I don’t want it on the ‘tv stuff’ or ‘journalism’ pages either. And also how do I get rid of the ‘links’ page title. Thank you so much, i’m constantly amazed at the help and support you get here.

You’re welcome!
Turn the above to this:
.category .page-header, .post-589 .entry-title { display: none; }
