Removing Dates From Vostok Theme

    Hi there,
    I’m desperately trying to remove the posted-on date and author from my Vostok site and have tried numerous attempts in the CSS editor, but with no joy. I’ve researched a bit online, but the advice seems to be about different themes, or using php code. Can anyone help – it’s really annoying me! :)

    CSS is unique for each theme. Try this to remove the posted-on date and author in the Vostok theme:

    .entry-meta {
        display: none;
    }

    Your site looks great! Are you working on the footer and widget areas next?

    Thanks Designsimply – that worked!! I’d been trawling youtube, google, EVERYTHING to try and find that code!

    Yup, only got started on it last night, so am going to be fixing it up over the next week!

    Thanks again

    Search for information about the web inspector for whatever browser you use or try Firebug for Firefox.

    Web inspectors are pretty darn handy.

    More feedback… just suggestions in case it’s helpful.

    I think you should make the padding at the very top of the page smaller:

    #header {
        padding: 0;
    }

    I think you should add back a site title (it’s good for search engines and bookmarking, etc.) and then if you want to hide the text in browsers, try this:

    #site-title hs span a {
        text-indent: -9999px;
    }

    Thanks! I totally agreed about the padding at the top – but couldn’t figure out how to do it! you’re a star! Will also take your advice on the site title too.
