    Hi,

Cant seem to remove default widget from blog page. Have worked out how to remove from front/home page. But when I go into widgets on blog page nothing seems to appear in any of the areas to drag out/remove.

    Thanks

    Howdy Mariska,

The Stay theme doesn’t offer a full-width option for blog pages. The sidebar will automatically appear like the demo regardless of whether you have widgets inserted into the widget area:

    There are three options:

    1. We could use some custom CSS to remove the widget area on the blog pages. However, this will be a bit messy and could interfere with how your site appears on mobile devices.

    2. We could switch themes. Happy to help you find one you like1

    3. We could put some widgets in that area. Perhaps you could move the subscription widget down from the header area?

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your reply. I was actually talking about removing the actual default widgets not the sidebar area.

I did however find another solution to the ones above. By dragging a text box widget into the area and keeping it blank it overrides the default widgets that are automatically set in the theme but aren’t shown in the widget customize area to drag out. Seems weird but it worked.

    Thanks

    Mariska

Ah – now I understand. That’s a pretty common workaround. Glad to hear it worked!
