Removing domain info/mapping from this blog

    Hi,

I’m trying to help a friend with her site, I’ve gotten administrator access to see what problems I was running into with the domain name move since I won her expired domain via auction(GoDaddy).

It seems to be some legacy information is as best as I can describe it that is preventing me from using the domain fully, the nameservers have been changed to WordPress, it’s just getting the domain to another site within WordPress. If I’m able to rebuild the site on her end which I can, I will. But the problem then is that when you go to the custom domain, it says how the name has expired and to renew it, but it is no longer expired and it’s been renewed till 2017.

I have tagged the topic with ‘modlook’ since I believe this can only be resolved on the WordPress side of things, thank you!

  • Hey Evan,

What is the name of the domain?

If you claimed it at auction, it is now hosted at Go Daddy – which means you’ll need to point the nameservers back over to WordPress.com for it to work with your friend’s site. Since it has expired over at WordPress.com, we’ll probably need to remove the expired mapping from the account – assuming what you’re seeing is an overlay when you visit the site.

Again, let me know the domain and we’ll go from there. Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

The domain name is http://www.dailydivadiary.com. I have updated the nameservers at GoDaddy so I guess all that’s left is for you guys to do your thing.

    Thanks again!

  • Hey there!

I just removed the overlay, so you should be good to go. Check dailydivadiary.com and let me know if you have any issues.

    Cheers!
