removing facebook and twitter from my default publishing options
-
In the past, I had control over my publishing settings.
Now I am put on some empty WordPress page that says marketing.
I am not publishing on Twitter and Facebook because of their stands on free speech.
Right now, I have to remove them manually from my publishing settings.
This is an issue that should not exist.
Can WordPress please fix this issue, or do I have to rebuild my website? -
Hi there!
There’s no need to connect your site to either Facebook or Twitter.
Here’s how you can set your sharing buttons:
https://wordpress.com/support/sharing/.
You can also disconnect those services from Publicize:

Hello,
Neither one of those options are available on the WordPress dashboard options for my website.
I am ruing version 5.6 of WordPress.
I am aware of the publicize settings option, but it takes me to another WordPress dashboard with a blank page’s marketing option.
Maybe WordPress can fix this problem in future updates.
Until then, I will continue to manually remove Facebook and Twitter.
Thanks, -
Hello there,
I am aware of the publicize settings option, but it takes me to another WordPress dashboard with a blank page’s marketing option.
Are you able to share a link to the blank page you’re directed to please?
Many thanks in advance.
-
Hello,
This is the strange direction that the settings hyperlink sends me to.
It is another dashboard that has a white background.
In the past, I could add or delete places I would send my daily pasts to.

Hello,
I should add that I am using the classic editor.
The block editor does not work well with the writing work I do on the computer.
Thanks, -
Looks like your browser isn’t loading the WordPress.com interface to manage your Publicize connections.
Clearing your browser’s cache usually resolves this issue. Here’s how to do it:
If this doesn’t work or you have more questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help!

Hello,
Clearing cache doesn’t usually solve these kinds of issues from my experience.
I just performed the action, and it did not help.
Perhaps WordPress can make another software update to deal with this.
Thanks, -
Hello there,
Do you wish to not automatically publish to Twitter when you create a post? If yes, you would need to click disconnect next these services here: https://wordpress.com/marketing/connections/sheephear.org.
If you’d like to pick and choose what gets posted to social media, please see this guide here: https://jetpack.com/support/publicize/#sharing-new-posts
I hope this helps.

Hello,
None of that stuff worked.
I disconnected jetpack, and I no longer automatically share my website posts to other pages.
I will manually post anything I want.
The publicize button is no longer available as in the past.
I am not sure what jetpack actually does, but it is gone.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
