Removing "follow" bar at bottom on mobile devices
-
Hi
I notice that on my site when on mobile screens, there is a white bar at the bottom for following the site? this is not a blog or a site that would favour people following it like a blogger, and it takes up quite a bit of room on a mobile screens. Is it possible to remove this bar? i have unticked the setting in dashboard > Settings > Reading > Show follow button to logged out users. BUT this removed the follow text, leaving the white bar still?
any ideas?
thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, what you are seeing is called the action bar, and I’m going to have to check and see if that can actually be hidden. If you click on it, you will see that it lists the theme being used on the site and also some other useful links, and is actually part of the WordPress.com admin system.
I’m going to check and see if this can be hidden or not and I’ll let you know as soon as I can.

Lots of discussion on this topic, particularly with regards to how the action bar displays on mobile. This thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-new-follow-bar?replies=32
NB since that was for your info, feel free to remove if you deem appropriate.

@justjennifer, thanks for the link to the discussion.
@arbsdesign, the follow bar gives logged-in users quick access to some useful things, such as their Reader, etc., and is part of the core of WordPress.com. I’m offering the following, which is a Media Query that hides the action bar on screens 768px and narrower.
@media screen and (max-width: 768px) { #actionbar { display: none; } }See how that works for you and let me know.

@tsp – glad to help. Since this solution is geared towards smaller screens, and that was the comment in the other thread maybe it would be a good thing to point to this thread as well?
And of course requesting the action bar be optional on mobile would be a good thing all around. :)
