removing followers

i want to keep my blog public but i want to remove a follower. she is someone who has been stalking my blog for a while now, and has been trouble to me in person and online for more than a year. i want to remove this follower from my blog. how do i do this?
is there any way to permanently ban her from following my blog?

I should think that, if this is happening in person as well as online, you should get a restraining order or ask the police about stalking/ harassment laws in your area. Might be they need to become involved.
I was only able to send the one I had to spam but because she wouldn’t stop and made up more to harass me as well, I made a new blog to get her off track. You know, you CAN have more than one blog here on WP, right?

We do not have the ability to remove followers, and really it doesn’t do any good as they can just follow it again.
Blocking isn’t an option either really since IP addresses are not unique anymore and blocking an IP address may end up blocking a 1000 other people that are assigned that same IP address. Also, all they would have to do is to reboot their modem or go to a wi-fi hotspot, and they could also just visit the blog in their browser or follow it via the RSS feed.
@najapost has some good advice about talking with the police.
