Removing Followers

Is there some way to remove followers of your blog, you know, those that receive notification upon publication of a new essay or observation or whatever your blog specializes in?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not possible on a Public site. If you want to change your privacy settings to Private, you can pick and select who views your posts.

Thanks for the reply. If I changed the setting to “Private” and deleted some followers, would they be notified?

    Thanks again.

Once you change your site’s Privacy settings to “Private”, all the current followers will be disconnected even if they show up in your stats. Only the people you invite to view your site as viewers will be able to see it and you can remove those viewers at any time.

You won’t be able to delete disconnected followers yourself. Staff have said in the past that they will remove followers if this makes a user feel more comfortable. As far as whether a follower receives a notice that they’ve been removed, I doubt that, but will be happy to tag this for Staff input, but do be aware they have a bit of a backlog at the moment.

You might want to read the Support document on Privacy, if you haven’t yet done so. You can find it on the Support site by clicking the link above (Need help? Check out our Support site…).
