Removing Gateway Theme social media icons

I want to remove two of the four red-button social media icons from my pages. I’ve edited the sharing options and the social media menu, but no luck. I’ve removed the sharing option in individual page settings but still no luck. I have Personal subscription level so I’m unable to customise the CSS. Please help.

  • Hi there,

In your widgets area, you have a Social Media Icons widget in the sidebar section.
You can just remove the “#” symbols next to the networks you want to hide.

Let me know if you run into any issues.

Thanks, however Gateway theme only has widget options for footers, not a sidebar, for some strange reason. Is this an oversight with this particular theme? Is there a workaround?

  • Hi again,

It looks like you’ve changed themes. If you decide to go back to Gateway, in the Customizer you’ll want to use the preview of your site to click on one of your posts or pages which shows the sidebar.

When you do that, the Widgets area will reveal the Sidebar option and you can modify the settings there.

Alternatively, you can edit the widgets in the dashboard of your site if you prefer. If you go that route, you’ll find them under Appearance > Widgets.
