removing header on homepage and widening paragraph width

  I have the css upgrade, i was told to remove the header on my homepage I use this : .home #header {display:none;} but where do I paste this?

  Also can I widen the width of my paragraph?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
