Removing Header Text from MistyLook
-
Hi,
I just changed my theme on my blog http://www.ascrapoftime.wordpress.com to MistyLook. I have the CSS Upgrade, and have everything pretty much how I want it, with the exception of the header text. My custom header has the name in it, and I want to remove the “A Scrap of Time’s Blog” and
“Just another WordPress.com weblog” text. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thank you so much in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s a tagline and you can easily remove or replace it > Settings > General. It’s the second line down and when you are done click “Save Changes”.
BTW IMHO every blogger ought to consider having a effective tagline. Here’s how to do that http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/

Wow, thank you for the quick response! I deleted the tagline, which is awesome. I will have to come up with a good one, but in the meantime didn’t want that one. =o)
I read that if I delete the Blog Title in the settings that it will effect the search engines. Is this true? If it is, then is there a different way of deleting the blog title from the header text?

If and when you choose to go to that same page and change the title of your blog it will automatically change in the lettering above the header image. This will NOT affect SEO because it’s what’s in your urls that counts to the search engines.
The blog’s url will still be http://www.ascrapoftime.wordpress.com/ even if you change the blog title.
All of your post titles (headlines) ought to clearly contain key words that accurately reflect the content in the post they are assigned to. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2008/12/17/writing-effective-blog-headlines/

Here’s an example of savvy use of title and tagline to embed key words and branding:
