Hey there,
It is quite simple. Please go to your Dashboard > Pages > Select Home Page (alternatively, select Edit when you are on your Home page, in the Preview section).
It will take you to the Visual Editor of the Home Page. Select the image you wish to remove and Press Delete in the Keyboard. The image will be removed.
Select Update and the changes will be reflected.
Let us know how it goes. :)
Warmly,

I can get to pages. But I didn’t see Dashboard at the beginning. and on my home page in the edit. the image is not there,

My Apologies for the delay in responding. So as you mentioned, the image does not seem to show in the Visual Editor, is that right?
-
Yes. I found my way to the dashboard and then pages. but home page does not show up in the list.

I see that you are using the Snaps theme. You can go to your Dashboard (https://throughlouslens.wordpress.com/wp-admin) > All Pages > Select Home.
After Selecting it will open the Visual Editor to edit the home page.Try to clear your browser’s cache and retry. Visit this link on how to do it.

Apparently, the image in the Home Page is from one of your Blog Posts. If you wish to change your Home Page into Static (which will remove the blog posts to show on the Home Page) you can do so by:
Going to this link https://wordpress.com/customize/throughlouslens.wordpress.comYou will find ‘Customise’ button in the ‘Themes’ section on the center-left of your screen. This will open the site Customiser.
Select ‘Static Home Page’ in the list of Customisation Options and Select ‘A Static Page’ and ‘Save & Publish’. -
It is taking me time to respond since I am not familiar with this theme. Since the Image is from your blog posts, you can delete it by selecting ‘More’ then ‘Trash’ from the specific blog post:
