Removing item from a blog page side bar

  Please i have a web blog page with url http://info.ippconline.org. I want to remove some of the items on the side bar. I tried removing through the widgets, but it was not showing as items under widgets. Please must I necessarily go into the css to remove them? if yes and if no, please how do i go about it? Thank you.
