Removing Jetpack-linked blogs from WP account
-
I’ve recently had to switch hosts, therefore moving several WP blogs with Jetpack installed. I’m still in the process of setting up the new ones, but the old (and inaccessible) ones still appear as linked to my account under “My Sites”. One that I began to rebuild is now in my account twice.
Being unable to remove Jetpack-equipped blogs myself is rather a large drawback, and I’m seriously questioning whether I really need to reinstall it on all of them.
I gather someone on staff has to remove the old versions from my account?
I need to have unlinked: http://prysmcat.org/purr, http://prysmatic.com/writing, and both instances of http://prysmcat.com
I need http://cheezland.org to STAY linked, however (different host, not being moved).
And I assume this won’t mess with my wordpress.com blogs.
Thanks! I’d be happier if I could just do this myself without having to trouble staff with it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We have instructions for doing that here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/
Take a look through that page and let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.

This is what I get when I click on that link:
Support
Oops, Nothing here! Maybe the following search results can help:Followed by what I assume are the most recent forum posts, since they change with each attempt and are all dated today.
When I try searching using that exact phrase, “disconnect jetpack sites” I get zero relevant hits.
However, my search yesterday turned up multiple instances of people in the same situation who had to have staff unlink them manually. The most recent I saw were, I believe, the following, but there were others: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/remove-jetpack-linked-blog-from-account?replies=3
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/disconnect-from-jetpack-1?replies=4Maybe you’re getting results that are restricted to staff, a support knowledge base? I don’t know, but this isn’t actually any help at all. I still have sites linked to my account that should not be and nothing I can do about it.

The instructions given here were from June, but appear to still be relevant: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/unable-to-remove-jetpack-connection-to-this-now-deleted-blog?replies=5

Ah yes, we appear to have a bug with the instructions I tried to link to. My apologies.
I’ll remove those sites for you, give me a couple minutes.

Perfect! That did it! Thanks very much!
Good luck getting the instructions sorted out – less work for you, and it’ll make Jetpack a tad less frustrating for users.

Um… sorry to bring this one up again, but they seem to have reappeared in my list of blogs. Most of them, anyway. I’m not sure exactly when, since I didn’t need to look at it for a couple of days. I logged out and logged back in just a few minutes ago to see if that would help, but they’re still there.
The one at prysmatic.com is not there, which is as it should be, since I’ve decided it doesn’t need Jetpack. So that’s fine.
The one at prysmcat.org/purr (Meows, Purrs, and the Occasional Hiss) has been rebuilt without Jetpack, yet it’s somehow back on my list again, and it should not be.
The one at prysmcat.com (Prysmcat Books) has been rebuilt and DOES have Jetpack installed, so it should be there, but it’s actually in my list twice.
Cheezland.org, as before, needs to stay as it is.
Help? Again?

If they are reappearing, that means that Jetpack is being reconnected. That needs to be shut down on your side of things. I can disconnect them again, but they will just keep reconnecting if someone is using jetpack vai your WordPress.com user account.

I’ll check with my previous host, then. To the best of my knowledge, the previous versions of those blogs should not even exist anymore, only the current ones on the new host. Sounds like they managed to screw even that up.
Thanks. I doubt there’s any way I can get into them to disconnect them, since the domain name now directs to the current host. So I’ll make sure the old ones are gone for good and then ask you to remove them one last time.
If I’d had any idea that Jetpack would simply add more copies instead of finding the same blog at the same URL on a new host once Jetpack was reinstalled and activated, I would’ve disconnected them before switching hosts. My bad for not thinking to look into that, I guess…

Sorry about the delay. I wanted, as much as I could, to make certain that this is the end of the entire matter.
To the best of my knowledge, the previous installations are forever gone and it should be impossible for there to be any further reaching from their side. And I’ve changed my password, although that doesn’t seem to have disrupted the blogs that I want the connection to stay on anyway.
So… if you could please remove the “Meows, Purrs, and the Occasional Hiss” (prysmcat.org/purr) connection? And I have no idea which of the two instances of Prysmcat Books (prysmcat.com/main) is the live one and which is the ghost, but I suppose at worst I can reconnect it.
As before, Cheezland.org needs to stay as-is.
Thanks, and I very much hope this is the last either of us has to deal with this.
