Removing latest blog posts from static front page

    Hi there,

I’m wondering is there a way to remove the latest blog posts from a static front page? All I’m wanting really is the one featured post/image as shown, ideally with Home above it, and my widgets below. I’m not hugely keen on having the latest posts. Can they at least be reduced from 8 to about 4?

    Thanks!
    David

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • See under Settings ->Reading “Blog pages show at most”. Change that value to 1 (or 4).

However, I’m not sure if that will work for the front page of your theme. Also check under Appearance ->Theme options if there’s an option to set how many posts appear on the front page.

    Thanks for your help!

I gave it a try but that just affects the number of posts on my blog page which is set to a different page (Studio Blog tab), not the front page unfortunately. Also don’t see any options in the Appearance -> Theme section. I’m guessing it’s a CSS thing…

    Cheers,
    David

  • You can always set up a normal static front page instead of the showcase one that comes with the theme. But that will only contain static content, i.e. not update automatically with your latest post. You can create a new page or set an existing one as front page also at Settings ->Reading by changing the option next to Front Page.
