Removing line of grey dots above images

  • Unknown's avatar

On two pages of my site, there are minuscule lines of grey dots above rows of images.

On the homepage, the dots are followed by a gap (maybe 80 pixels) before the images begin. In the editor, the grey dots appear, but the gap does not. I cannot remove either and would like to remove both.

Similarly, on the Portfolio page, there are three lines of grey dots that I would like to vanish.

    Ideas greatly appreciated.
    Thanks –

    Mike

I should add that I’m using the Chateau theme.

That’s because you’ve formatted the text as an h3 heading: the dots are the default bottom border of the theme’s headings. You can easily eliminate that, but you also need to remove all the unnecessary strong and span tags you’ve added. For your home page, switch the editor to HTML and turn this:
    <h3><strong><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="color:#333333;">Check out some recent work, or head over to the</span> </span><span style="color:#9b2b2b;"><a title="Portfolio" href="http://mikeschulteweb.wordpress.com/home/"><span style="color:#9b2b2b;">Portfolio</span></a> </span><span style="color:#333333;">for more gibberish.</span></strong></h3>

    to this:
<h3 style="color:#333;border:none;">Check out some recent work, or head over to the <a style="color:#9b2b2b;" title="Portfolio" href="http://mikeschulteweb.wordpress.com/home/">Portfolio</a> for more gibberish.</h3>

But if you want all your headings to be like that, and all your links to be that color, then instead of modifying each one in the HTML editor you can change them once for all in the CSS editor. In that case post a new question in the CSS forum.
