Removing link underline in sidebar twenty fifteen

  Hi, I’m running thenightmaregallery.com using theme Twenty Fifteen. I’d like to put a text widget in the sidebar, for linking to social media sites using custom icon images. The images are underlined and I’d like to be able to turn the underlining off. Have used custom CSS to insert ‘text-decoration: none’ at a couple of points but nothing seems to turn it off. Can you help?

  Hi there!

  Right now it looks like you’re using the social links menu instead of a text widget, and I see no underlines under the icons.

  Since CSS selectors are site-specific I can’t really help with the code unless your custom icons are setup on a site.

  Can you paste the HTML you’re planning to add to the Text widget here, then I can add your icons and that text widget onto a test site running Twenty Fifteen and figure out the CSS there?

  Or if you plan to just stick with the social links menu, let me know. :)

  Thanks for the code!

  The text-decoration property wasn’t helping because that underline was actually a bit of Border, not text-decoration. Add this CSS to remove it:

  .textwidget a{
  	border: 0;
  }
