removing list of categories from front page
-
I am using Ocean MIst. The front page displays the last three posts, which is what I chose, and then a complete list of all my categories. I didn’t choose to put it there, and I don’t want it there. But I cannot figure out how to remove the list. Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The theme you are using, Ocean Mist, is a retired theme and I would like to suggest that you consider using a newer theme. As time goes on, retired themes are no longer updated and do not support WordPressdotcom’s newer features.
If you would like a recommendation to replace your existing theme, just let us know.
Having said that, and having checked this on my test site using Ocean Mist, it seems that the categories area appearing at the bottom of your site is built in and there’s no way I can see to remove it.

Thank you so much! Now I know it’s not my fault I couldn’t remove it.
What would you suggest? I like the simplicity of Ocean Mist and the ability to change the headers. I also like pages under the header and a side bar.

You’re welcome. :)
Theme selection is rather personal, but there are quite a number of themes that would answer those requirements:
Custom Header Image
SidebarHave a look in the Theme Showcase at these themes: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/blog+two-columns+custom-header/type/free/ and make sure to click through to the theme’s demo site to get a feel for it.
I rather like:

https://wordpress.com/themes/twentyeleven/ and better
