Removing "Meta" and "Categories" from sidebar

  I’ve browsed the forums and found answers from different years regarding how to do this, but I’m having difficulty removing the “Meta” and “Categories” boxes from the sidebar of my website.

  My goal is for the “Archive” and “Skating” links to remain, but remove the “Meta” and “Categories” boxes. I can’t seem to find the sidebar.php that was mentioned in other’s posts.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Go here > Appearance > Widgets and remove them

  Once in the Appearance > Widgets menu, When I drag it out of the Available Widgets box into the Unavailable Widgets box, it remains visible in the Available Widgets box. (Nothing is appearing in the Sidebar box.)

  Any other suggestions?

  Drag and drop a Widget into the sidebar and the default Widgets will go away – caution you will need to add back in All the Widgets you want.
