removing my site
-
I just moved my website domain – bloodyexperts.com from wordpress to godaddy
It is still coming up on wordpress though so I want to remove it completely and remove the blog.
It is now registered on godaddy and I paid the registration fee but I can’t access some of the features as it still seems to be a wordpress site.
How do I completely move it away from wordpress?
Thank you very much,
Katya

Hi Katya,
If you’d like, I can remove the mapping for bloodyexperts.com and walk you through deleting your site, however your domain is currently registered at and pointed towards GoDaddy, so everything is entirely with them now.
I took a look at your site there, and it doesn’t look like you’ve created a new WordPress.org site at bloodyexperts.com on GoDaddy’s servers, however you should be able to log in via FTP and upload any contents you want without issue.
Let me know if you have any questions or if you’d like me to go ahead and delete your domain mapping for you!

Hello! Thank you for the quick reply.
I don’t want to create a wordpress.org site, I would just like to create my own website without a CMS. WordPress is great for lots of other things I am doing, but not for this particular site.
If you delete my domain mapping, will anything happen to the domain name?
Katya

Not a thing. Since your domain is pointed elsewhere, we don’t really have any effect on your domain at all anymore.
I have already checked, and your domain mapping is already set to manually renew, so if there is any chance that you may decide to switch back to WordPress.com, there isn’t really any harm in holding on to the mapping until it expires in late November.
And of course I can always cancel it for you! :)

Hi there, thanks very much!
That helps a lot.
Will it automatically cancel in November then?
-
It will indeed. You’ll get an email or two about it, but it will cancel on the 29th of November.
