Removing my user account from a joint group site!
-
Hello there!
Back in 2015 I was studying in an MA where we had to do a group project, our Professors made us create wordpress accounts and then added those accounts into our project site. It’s be five years since then and I don’t want to be associated with the project anymore.
As I’m not an admin I cannot delete the site, which I would solve the issue, but from what I can see if I deleted my wordpress account – affecting my other websites – I would get removed from the site, but then I would need to sort out other stuff with the other sites I work on.
Is there a way of a user leaving a site? I want to keep my user account, I don’t have the rights to delete the project site, I just want to stop being connected with it.
Please let me know the best course of action. I know with everything going on right now, the University will be busy, so I don’t want to contact them about this unless it’s necessary!
Thanks for you time.

Hi there,
You can “leave” a blog by going here: https://societyrscproject.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs
On that page you will want to:
- hover over the address “societyrscproject.wordpress.com”
- below that site address the link “Leave Blog” will appear
- click that link and follow the steps on your screen to leave societyrscproject.wordpress.com
Please note that if you leave a site this is permanent and we are not able to undo it. The only way to access the site once you leave is to ask an admin to re-invite you.
Leaving societyrscproject.wordpress.com will not delete it, and your other sites will remain on your account, and will not be affected. Hope this helps!
