removing myself as administrator of a Blog I started

  • Unknown's avatar

I started a blog, then invited 2 friends to join, I made them both admin so we all had equal share. I now want to pull out of the blog, do I simply remove myself as an admin? The 2 friends will keep the blog running and have wordpress accounts.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Since you own the blog and the domain upgrade for TheWineWankers.com.au, you’ll need to transfer ownership of the blog and upgrade to one of the other admins on the blog (if you want them to keep using that domain). I’d be happy to help you do that. :)

Just let me know what user (the WordPress.com username and/or the email address on their account) you want to transfer ownership to, and I can take care of it for you. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Please transfer the ownership of the blog and domain upgrade for wwwTheWineWankers.com.au to Conrad Grah. He is already has an ‘Administrator’ role for the blog.

    WordPresss Username – conrad72
Email – (email visible only to moderators and staff)

My role will drop to ‘Author’ on the blog, Can you do this also or should I do that after?

Can you ensure that nothing crazy happens, as I have heard that sometimes people have lost their blog through this process, or certain posts/pages… I just want to hand over ownership due to my lack of time to put into the blog but I want to blog to visually be exactly the same, with all my past content and the ability to write occasional posts.

    Thanks
    Stuart McIntosh

    Hi Stuart,

I just transferred ownership of the blog and domain upgrade to Conrad. I want to assure you that everything on the blog itself is the same; only the ownership changed.

If you’d like, I can also change you from an Administrator to an Author on the blog. However, I want to make sure you know what that means in terms of what you can do on the blog as an Author. We have a description of each role here: User Roles

That page also has instructions for how to change your role on the blog, if you want to do that yourself. Just let me know if I can help with anything else! :)

    Rachel

I have just checked the blog and everything seems normal, thank you as I was slightly worried.

Please change my role to ‘Author’. I understand the limits and very happy with just being able to do that.

Thank you very much for helping me with this.
