    Hi there,

I have about 10 media files, some are duplicates. How can I remove the dups?

The blog I need help with is drhreflections.wordpress.com.

It seems that you are trying to delete the duplicate media files which you have on you site.

    1. You would have to select the duplicate media file(s) that you would want to delete.
    2. Once you have selected the media file(s), you will see that the delete button (red rubbish bin) will be showing just above the media files next to the Edit button.
    3. Click on the red rubbish bin button to delete the media file(s) which you have selected. It will prompt you to confirm the deletion of the media file(s).

    Hope this helps.

Hi there, hope you don’t mind me adding to this discussion.

Right now anyone landing on your website drhreflections.wordpress.com sees a 404-Page not found error.

If you are not going to use a static front page for your homepage and want people to see your blog/posts page when they land on drhreflections.wordpress.com, you might consider changing your homepage setting in your Customizer to “your latest posts” rather than a static page. https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/#3-create-a-blog-page-optional Make sure to click the Publish button to make that change live on your site.

Let me know if you have any other question about this.

does anyone know of any easy way I can find duplicate images in my media library so I can delete them? If they could be sorted by image number that would help. I imported media from another blog, now I have lots of duplicates

Hi there @lorieb finding duplicate files is iffy unless you know exactly which file is being used on your WPcom site since deleting media attachments is permanent.

If you need more help with this please open a new forum thread at https://wordpress.com/help/contact and let us know the address of the site you are working on. Thanks.
