Removing page titles
-
Does anyone know if there is a way in the twenty eleven theme to remove/hide the page titles on the individual pages on my site? My site is https://dcpoliticalwatch.wordpress.com/
I want to remove the big HOME and the other page titles. Thanks!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is a workaround found here http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/ scroll down to

Looks like you’ve managed to remove the page titles while creating a Custom Menu. Just let us know if you need further help.

Yes I was able to figure it out. Thank you for responding.
I am having another problem. I am trying to use the facebook like box and I can’t get it to appear on my site. I place the facebook widget in the main sidebar widget area and nothing appears. I then move the widget to one of the footer areas and without changing any of the widget settings the facebook box will appear in the footer.
I check to make sure my layout was on the correct one and it is (content on the left with a side bar on the right). Any thoughts? Thanks!!

From the detailed theme description page at
Widgets and No-sidebar Layout
Twenty Twelve loves the no-sidebar look as much as you do. Use the optional “Full-width page, no sidebar” page template to remove the sidebar from any page. Want to simplify even more and remove the sidebar from all your posts and pages? You guessed it! Simply remove any active widgets to the Main Sidebar area and the sidebar will disappear. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentytwelve/ -
I am not trying to remove the sidebar and widgets, just the opposite. I am trying to insert the facebook box widget into the main sidebar area and when I do and set it up properly the facebook box does not appear. I then take the same widget and move it to the footer widget area and the facebook box will appear.

Does that mean that you did not choose the optional “Full-width page, no sidebar” page template?

The Main Sidebar is displayed on the blog index page, but since you haven’t yet added any posts or set up your blog, it isn’t being displayed at the moment.
Once you’ve added some posts, create a blog placeholder page and assign it to your posts under Settings > Reading, “Posts page.” There’s a full setup guide here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Let me know if you need further help with it.
p.s. timethief – awlavery is using Twenty Eleven on the site he’s asking about – https://dcpoliticalwatch.wordpress.com/ – not Twenty Twelve. :-)
