Removing pages from the top header and replacing them on the side

At the top of my blog posting, I have two of my past post listed; Are you aware? Do you have a plan? Are you prepared for the next disaster, and the disaster supply kit – Having one is really your responsibility. Additionally, I have them listed on the left side of my blog.

Is there a way to remove them from the top and keep them on the left side only? I did try to delete the pages from the top; however, they also were deleted from the left side. Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance!

Yes. You will want to create two custom menus. One with have the pages you wish to show in the top navigation and the other will have the ones you want to show in the sidebar. See these two support documents on using the custom menus feature here and how to use the menu widget.

Thank you for the information! However, for whatever reason, the two pages on my header do not seem to go away and still show on the side bar. Maybe its something I am doing – not sure?

    Any other suggestions?

I don’t see the custom menu widget in your sidebar. Did you install that and configure it?

Is the menu you created and assigned to the top menu position selected in the “theme locations” module pulldown at the top right of the custom menu page?

I did it again and made a custom menu. However, when I placed it in the top header, it ended up on the bottom of the page..?? Needless to say, I am wondering if I screwed things up when I originally set up the blog..??

Since I have MacBook Pro, I was thinking about using iWeb and seeing if I could design my own blog page, transfer my current blog over to it and still remain on WordPress…?? Is that possible?

To remove the pages from the top, you need to create and activate a blank custom menu.
For details on custom menus see this post of mine:

THANK YOU!!!! It worked! Once I added what both of you said, and created a blank custom menu, it worked!

    I owe both of you!

On a different note, how does one if their blog is successful? I’ve only had it up for three weeks and have 33 followers and about 600 views. Is that the norm, and what is the norm, if there is even one?

Again, thank you both for all your help!
