Removing pages from Top page and Posts widget

I purchased a premium theme, but they use a “page” to set up the Front or Home page on my website.

However, as a result this page — which is called “Front” — is now the most read page on the website and appears at the top of “Top posts and pages” widget which I refer to as trending articles on my site.

Is their way to stop “pages” from appearing in the “Top pages and Posts” widget, particularly since some premium templates are using a page to set up their front page.

I know there is a “likes” widget that only refers to articles, but I want to have a trending article widget, not a “likes” widget. The “Top pages and posts” widget also refreshes regularly and new articles are appearing regularly in the list. The “Like” widget does not refresh as much.

In my original free template, I did not have this problem.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
