removing parent menu item
-
Hello!
In the list of Pages I see all sub-menu and sub-sub-menu items like this:
“
menu
– sub-menu
– sub-menu
— sub-sub-menu
etc.
“
When I remove Menu item, all sub-menus have parent property set to “no-parent” but “-” sign still remain in the list of Pages for each sub-menu and “–” sign for sub-sub-menu. I should go to each of the item and press “update” in order to have this sign removed from the appearance of the sub-menu and sub-sub-… etc. items. It is a real headache if you have heavy nested menu. Is there something I am missing to have this done automatically when I remove parent menu item?
Thank you

Hi there. Do you have a custom menu on your site or did you set up the nested menus using the page attribute module in the page editor?
If you used the page attribute module you’ll probably have to go back and edit each of those pages, though you should be able to bulk-edit them under Pages ->All Pages in the dashboard http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/#bulk-edit
If you have a complicated page structure with many pages on sub-levels you may want to consider using custom menus instead. With a custom menu you can edit page order and structure simply by dragging and dropping. See here for more information.

No need for the sad face :)
You can always still set up a custom menu if you want, but if you’re happy with the current setup that’s okay as well.
