Removing Part Of A Theme
-
Hi
How do I remove part of a theme? The theme I am using came with an inbuilt image and header that kind of splits the page.
I don’t want to use it so removed it from my list view. I’ve set everything up and was doing a final check and when I view the page as a website the image and heading are still there how do I remove please? Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To make sure I understand correctly, could you please share a screenshot of the exact section you’d like to remove? This will help us guide you more effectively. Feel free to share any additional details, and we’ll be happy to assist you further! -
Hi Joseph,
The issue you’re seeing is because some WordPress themes include default header images or hero sections that are part of the theme design. Removing them from the list view doesn’t always remove them from the live site. Here’s how to fix it:
- Check the Customizer – Go to Appearance → Customize → Header / Hero / Front Page Settings. Look for options to remove the default image or heading.
- Check the Front Page / Cover Block – If your theme uses a cover block or featured content, edit the Front Page in the block editor and remove any default blocks or images.
- Check Theme Options – Some themes have Theme Options under Appearance → Customize that control default images and headings. Disable any “show default header/hero” options.
- Clear Cache – After removing the image or heading, clear your browser and WordPress cache to make sure the changes appear live.

Following these steps should remove the unwanted image and heading from your live site.
