removing pdf file
-
Hello. I used WordPress as my learning journal. I have finished my course and made my blog private. I also deleted PDF files from posts and from Media. However, PDFs are still visible online with WordPress . What can I do to be sure they are not available online?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you please send me the links to those PDF files to see if they’re still stored in our servers or if they’re simply cached by your browser or any search engines?

Hello,
thank you for the reply. The link to the file:
Click to access pro-pat-2018-presentation-version-for-a-blog-with-no-personal-correspondence.pdf
The other PDF link is not active anymore.
Also, I found a public link, which leads to my blog, even though I made it private:
https://alinaagaciakcm.wordpress.com/page/22/
Could I please ask to make it invisible for online public?
Thank you for your help.

That PDF is not on our servers any more. Try clearing your browser cache, and see if you can still access it then. You shouldn’t be able to.
Also note we have no control over content cached with search engines, so people might still be able to find and view that file if they find it via a Google (or other search engine) search. We have no way to prevent that, and the file will need to be removed from different search engines individually to prevent that.
The link, https://alinaagaciakcm.wordpress.com/page/22/, is not public. If I try to open that link it leads me to a page saying the site is private, just like every other link on that site. If it’s working for you, it’s either because you are logged into the account, or because that page is cached in your browser.
If that link is appearing in search results for your site, you’ll need to wait for search engines to remove it, as we have no control over information that is cached or indexed with various search engines.
