Removing 'Recent Posts' from Home Page

I have been trying to remove the ‘Recent Posts’ object from the bottom of the homepage of my website (muse278.wordpress.com) because I do not want a blog on my website. However, under Reading settings in the admin panel, when I set the home page to a static page (with Front page set to ‘Home’ and Posts page set to ‘–Select–‘) the ‘Recent Posts’ still appear on my website.

Please delete or unpublish your three blog posts. That should stop them from appearing — let me know if it doesn’t.
