I just want the front page to have a picture and a brief description. Sorry for such a basic question. Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@roaringcreekinvitational: There isn’t a built-in way to remove the recent posts section from the Karuna theme’s front page.
I agree that such an option would be ideal and have passed the feedback onto the team behind the theme, but can’t make any promises that it will be implemented.
You have two main options here:
1. Switch to a different theme. Radcliffe 2 has a nice large header, like Karuna, but doesn’t display posts on the front page. I’d also encourage you to browse our repository for other alternatives, as theme choice is very much down to personal preference.
2. Upgrade to WordPress.com Premium or Business. You’ll be able to use custom CSS to hide the recent posts section with either of those plans.
Let me know if the above helps out or if you have any other questions.

Hello @roaringcreekinvitational!
I wanted to let you know that, based on feedback like yours, we’ve added an option to the Karuna theme to hide the Recent Posts section on the static front page.
To do this, please navigate to Customize > Theme Options, and uncheck the box labelled “Display up to four Recent Posts on the static front page.”
Cheers!
