removing reply box on all pages
-
I realized there are tons of threads about this, but I think I’ve exhausted all the tips and still can’t remove the dang “leave a reply” box from all the pages on my site. I’m using the Argent theme, and I have unclicked “comments” from the screen options on individual pages, as well as unclicked “allow people to post comments on new posts” in discussion settings. Any insight would be much appreciated!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I have unclicked “comments” from the screen options on individual pages…
This action will only disable comments from displaying on the page, not disable the “Leave a Reply” box. To disable “Leave a Reply” on each page, at each page editor either uncheck “Allow Comments” in the Discussion module (found below the editor window by default), or uncheck Discussion at Screen Options > Show on screen.

Hi there,
All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. Your visitors click the post tiles or the comment links or comment bubbles on the front page of the blog and they are directed to the full post appearing on it’s own page where the comment boxes appear at the end of the posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Thank you. As I said in my initial post, “allow people to post comments” is unchecked in my discussion settings (all of the default settings are unchecked). And both “comments” and “discussion” are unchecked in screen options. The reply box is still there on every page.

Ok this did it (http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/04/23/comments-off-1/):
Even faster, when you want to change several static pages at once: go to Pages > All Pages, tick the little squares to select the pages, select “Edit” from the Bulk Actions pulldown, click Apply, select “Allow” or “Do not allow” from the relevant pulldown, click Update. Same thing for comments and/or pings on several posts, in Posts > All Posts.
