removing search bar from home page template

    Hi there. I’m sorry if I’ve done the wrong thing, but I’m just starting out with creating a websiter and have been doing it without downloading WordPress itself.
    I am currently trying to create a home page without a search tool. However I can’t seem to get the ‘Home’ template with the banner image without a search tool.

    It’s for a basic assignment for school.

    I hope this is clear, perhaps I’m just not seeing how to do it, but it seems locked with the homepage template as I can’t seem to find any way to remove it. I’m hoping there is a solution without having to download WordPress.
