Removing second “Home” from header

  I have followed the instructions from the FAQ about creating a static home page. I wasn’t able to select the options in >OPTIONS>READING>STATIC PAGE because I have to not only save, but publish the page before it becomes an option that I can choose in the drop down menu.

  But that said, my real problem is that when I choose my newly created Home page as the static page, it automatically puts two pages called Home into Widgets bar as well as in the header. It looks kind of stupid having two home pages listed. They both are linked to the static page, but I can’t find a way to only have one listed. Any ideas?
