Removing Site Content from Search Engine Hits on Google

Hello all, recently I had an item on my web page that was not exclusively mine and I was asked to take it down. I have removed the link on my page however when searching in google, the hit still comes up as a result under the search results and I am unsure as to how to remove this hit from Google. Any suggestions?

It can take a few weeks for Google’s index to update. Please get in touch with them directly through their tools:
