Removing someone from subscribers list

There is a subscriber who wants the e-mail address removed from the notifications when I post on the blog. I cannot find a way to access my subscribers list and remove this person.

    Help please!!!!

    Santiago

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi Santiago,

Unfortunately, you can’t manually remove subscribers.

What your subscribers can, however, do is click the unsubscribe link in the email that they get. That’s how public blogs (ones not set to private) are supposed to work—anyone can subscribe to them as they’re already in the public domain and accessible by everyone.

If they don’t want to receive any more notifications, they must initiate the unsubscription process.

I’m just adding a bit to what ethis has correctly posted above.

Your followers control their own subscriptions – you don’t and can’t do this for them. Here are brief instructions for unsubscribing from a blog if the person has a WordPress.com username account that you can email to your subscriber:

    1. Click the “unsubscribe” link on the emails of the posts received at the very bottom of the emails.

    2. Or go here > http://wordpress.com/#!/read/edit/ locate and click the “x” next to any blog there to unfollow it and no longer receive posts in the Reader or by email.

    3. Or go to the blog in question and click the unfollow/follow link on your Admin bar.

If the subscriber does not have a WordPress.com username account then 1. applies.

    1. Click the “unsubscribe” link on the emails of the posts received at the very bottom of the emails.

  • Thanks for the addition @timethief. Been a long time, hope you’re doing good!

The unsubscribe link is at the bottom but very very small type and is overlooked by many – ask them to page all the way down to the very very bottom of the email

    @auxclass
You’re right. The unsubscribe link is very small and could be easily overlooked. Thanks for your addition.

    You be welcome –

I have been through this with people on another site I admin – and until the instructions were “very very bottom” there was a problem – – also I subscribe to a couple of sites here with email and I take out the unsubscribe link before I forward the email to some friends (they used to work for the the agency and like getting some news about their old employer) – and finding the links is always a bit of a search

  • @timethief,

Wow, those compliments coming from a WordPress veteran mean a lot! Thank you. :)
