I want to remove a email subscriber. I have tried banning this person several times but they still get an email to my every post. I have their written permission to remove them but cannot find a way to do it. Could someone works here manually remove them for me? Thx!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is there nobody that works here that can respond to this? You can email me and I can send you a screenie of the subscriber email giving me permission to remove them and give you the name. I would like to get this done today. Thx!

We cannot block or delete subscribers from public blogs. Anyone and everyone can access public blogs and that’s indeed what the public designation means. However, please read this about public blogs that become private blogs > Blog Privacy and Subscribers > http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/blog-privacy-and-subscribers/

Note that you have complete control comment moderation. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-moderation If your blog is public others can, of course, read it and they can submit comments but you can Moderate all comments and choose which ones to approve or not.

I suggest you set your blog so that first time commenters are held in moderation until their first comment is approved, then from that point forward they will not need approval. Settings > Discussion. The next step up is to set it so that all comments are held in moderation until approved. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/

Mark only spam as spam http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/01/24/mark-only-spam-as-spam/ and delete all troll comments. http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/03/27/how-to-starve-a-troll/

For trolls, you can “blacklist” them at Settings > Discussion toward the bottom of that page. Enter their email address, their username, and if they included it, their website URL. That will automatically send them to moderation so that their comments do not appear on the blog. Do note though that if they are determined, they can use a different email address or username to get around that.

Also, do not put their IP address in the blacklist. IP addresses are no longer unique, and you might end up blocking legitimate visitors. Also, all they would have to do is go to a wi-fi hot spot, or connect via a different ISP and they could get around that.

I am not going to make my blog private just because of one person. I know this person in real life and do not want them snooping into my business. Certainly you can go into admin and remove one subscriber. Since I have used the self hosted version I know this to be true. You are not trying to tell me that you condone cyberstalking?

As I previously stated, I have already banned them. That does not prevent them from getting emails.

No. What you ask for will not be done.

Anyone and everyone with internet access can subscribe to any public blog in a feed reader. It would be a pointless waste of Staff time to remove any email subscriber because anyone can get another IP address and/or email address and follow the blog again.

So even though I want them removed and the subscriber themselves wants to be removed, you refuse to do it. And your excuse is the 1 minute of staff time it would require?

You do realize how petty and lame you are making your company look right now? Whatever, just glad I never paid for any upgrades here. It is obvious the customer does not come first and thus I never shall.

I am a Volunteer and I have answered question here for nigh unto 8 years. That is years longer than most Staff have even been on Staff. You can keep bashing your head on this brick wall if you wish to but I don’t recommend doing so because there are pages and pages of years and years worth of answers to the same question you posted and I stand on my answer.

I have have had my blog hosted here for over 7 yrs. However, how long either of us has been here does not matter. I searched for the question before I posted it. In fact, the system requires you to search first. But you should know that having been here so long.

I miss the old days when you could actually speak to a REAL staff member and get problems solved. Of course those were the days when people also actually read posts instead of running around liking every post the second it is posted. The decisions this company has made in the last 3 yrs. have offered absolutely no improvements to the site or service. I predict over the course of the next few years there will be many who decide to go somewhere else more customer oriented.

Enjoy your volunteer time here while you can. It might be over sooner than you think.
