Removing subscribers from my WordPress.com public blog.
-
I have a subscriber that has asked me to remove them. I am unable to find any way to remove the follower. My blog is hosted on WordPress.com and this person is an Email only subscriber and NOT a WordPress user. My blog is public.
Does this mean I need to have the subscriber “manage” their subscription from the blog page? What if I, as the blog author, wish to unsubscribe a follower?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I would appreciate seeing a response to this query, I have a similar issue with a particular malicious person who has subscribed to my blog, I would prefer to block their subscription so as not to alert them to my posts, however I know that by keeping my blog public it will still be searchable, I have regularly refused to moderate comments by this person in question and find it frustrating that I’m not able to manage my followers. If the only alternative is making my blog available via invitation only it will be sad to be forced to limit my audience in such a fashion due to the unwanted attention of a select few.

You cannot remove followers. They can, however, remove themselves; on every email they receive is a link to Notification preferences, and they can remove themselves there.
You can, I believe, set your blog to be public but not searchable by search engines, and if I’m not mistaken this will kill your RSS feed and thus your subscriptions.

The unsubscribe link in the email is way down at the bottom of the email in small type size – easy to overlook
Ask the person to look way down at the bottom of the email
