Removing Tags from Reader

I have lots of tags in my Reader that are outdated. In the past, I have removed these by clicking the X to the side but this seems to have disappeared and while I can add a new tag I can’t remove an old one. Can someone suggest how I do this please without the X. Thanks

Hi @redqueenmusings, click on the tag you want to remove, then click the green “Following Tag” option in the upper right. It will be removed from your Followed Tags list.

I don’t seem to have a green following tag either. I can show you what I am seeing if there is a way to attach a screenshot.

You can’t attach it here, but you can upload it to https://wordpress.com/media and update us here. We’ll take a look.
Also, would it be alright if we try unfollowing that tag for you to see if we have the same issue when logged in as you?

That is fine I will use the link above and post a screen shot and if you could access my blog and delete the tags that are there except the one on Vietnam. Thank you.

OK I have added a screenshot to the https://wordpress.com/media link and trust I have done this correctly. I can see all the images that are currently on my blog plus the new one. Does this mean you can now access it and then my Reader to remove the unwanted tags.

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/
If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

I cleared cache and cookies and still didn´t work so changed browser to Chrome et voalá it worked so thank you so much for your help.

I’m glad you got it figured out, but it would still be good to track down what caused this.
What browser were you using originally? Did you check with add-ons disabled as staff-blorbo suggested above? Make sure that that browser allows JavaScript – if either browser settings or add-ons are blocking JavaScript, that could explain the missing buttons, as they use that kind of code to work.

I use firefox but changed to google chrome and it worked. My blog is the free version and I have not added anything so no add ons that I am aware of, as that would probably mean adding code and I have no idea how to do that.
Please pass my thanks to those who gave advice it was only a small irritation but it is nice to know you guys are so helpful when needed.
