Removing the categories bar with Journalist v1.3

Hey, I currently use the theme Journalist 1.3 and have custom CSS my blog address is, http://lavengeancedustyle.wordpress.com/

I am a newbie and need a bit of guidance, but I am wondering if there is any way I can remove the categories bar from my blog (the dark bar underneath the post title). I would also like to know if there is any way to have my Post Titles centered instead of to the left.

    Thanks a bunch

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For the categories display under the post title, add ” display:none; ” to .meta. Do note that it will also hide the date as well since both are controlled by .meta .

    For centering the post titles, add ” text-align:center; ” to #content h2.

One suggestion is to never paste the entire stylesheet into the CSS edit window as it can mess things up because it breaks any relative URL’s that are in the CSS. See this blog post by devblog for more information on that issue: http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/ .

Is there any further information on not pasting the entire CSS into the editor, perhaps dealing with what to do when you have already done than and also made changes? I am not sure exactly how this works.

It has never been something staff has really addressed, and there are just a few people here in the forums who know it is an issue. Devblog is by far the most experienced with CSS here.

With the theme you are using, it isn’t a major issue since it doesn’t have a lot of images in the theme itself, but with themes that have images for backgrounds, or icons for different things, it is an issue. Your CSS is stored in a different directory from the original CSS and that means any relative URL’s in the original CSS you copied and pasted are broken.

Also, when you paste the entire CSS, make sure that you select “start from scratch…” . If you do not, then the duplication between the two can and will cause issues in most instances.
