When I look at my website live. It looks like every page on it has a share feature on the bottom i’d like to remove. I was wondering if this were possible ? my URL is https://arthursacademicportfolio.wordpress.com

hi there
Please confirm if this is the feature you want to remove, that’s the only subscription-related feature I saw on your site

Hey there!
The Follow button appears in the bottom right-hand corner of all WordPress.com sites, BUT only when the site has two or more published blog posts. That information is sort of peppered throughout this support page about following blogs.
It looks like you’re using your site as a Portfolio, rather than a classic blog. You might be interested in WordPress.com’s Portfolio tools. I believe publishing Portfolio projects instead of blogs would remove that Follow button, so long as you continued to publish as projects, rather than blog posts. You can learn about how to set up Portfolio settings and projects here.
Lastly, if you decide you want to transform your blog posts, you can follow the same instructions that are found a little farther down on this Posts vs Pages Support page so you don’t have to rebuild from scratch.
Hope that helps!

Hi staff-arihere.
Was there ever an option to turn this button off for logged out users? I don’t see the option anymore, did it move?

Hey @therefoiam,
You are right, there used to be an option under settings that would ‘hide follow button for logged out visitors’. It looks like that was removed when the action bar was launched in 2015. Since then, the action bar will show up for any visitor to your site if you have posts published, and will hide for sites with fewer than 2 published posts.
One other thing – accounts with access to advanced CSS edition options (Premium and up) can use custom CSS to hide the button, though the ability for someone to follow a WordPress.com site cannot be disabled.

As long as the site has 2 or more published posts, the button will appear, so the only way to “remove” it is stick with pages and/or portfolio items, or make the site Private of course.
