Removing the .wordpress.com from my URL

    Hello,

I looked around for this but couldn’t find an answer. Does the ‘.wordpress.com’ get removed when you buy a premium account or do I need to upgrade to a business account?

    Thanks for any help!

    Respectfully,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
Upgrading to both – Premium Account as well as a Business Account gives you an option to have a free custom domain like yourwebsite.com which you can use for your site to hide the wordpress.com subdomain.

However, the Business Plan comes with some additional features and benefits. So get a plan that suits you accordingly.

  • Hi Matt,

Just to add, you can also add your own domain with the Personal Plan, in other words, any of our plans allows you to do that.

If you want to use the Personal Plan, first go to My Site ->Plans and add the plan before the domain, otherwise Premium will be added automatically.
