Removing title white space between menu and slider?

    I am using the Shawburn theme and am trying to place a slider just under the menu, much like the theme demo uses a cover image. However, I can’t get the slider (I am using MetaSlider) to lay flat against the menu without a white space or get it to widen to the edges of the page content section. Any ideas how to do this?
