You can manage the sharing button at ‘Tools’ -> ‘Sharing’ in your Dashboard. I already deactivated the buttons for you.

Thanks for your answer. BUT…in the area of “leave a comment”, the buttons for Twitter and Facebook are still there. I have seen the settings area, sharing, publicize and I have already checked that the buttons are not connected.
Any other comment for me? In order to make the blog private ….only 35 people can vane access? Thanks again. Alicia

Hi Alicia,
The unified comment form – the comment form with Facebook and Twitter – is active on all WordPress blogs. Unfortunately, there is no way for users to de-activate this feature.
To make your blog private, you can go to your Dashboard > Settings > Privacy and click on the radio button next to “I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.”
Once you save this setting, you will be able to add the users that you would like to view your blog.

Thanks for the answer . I understand that I can add as many friends as they want to read my blog. Alicia

Maybe this is a silly question…but the system asks me for username….what I should write there? I wrote an email address but it did not accept it. Thanks, Alcia

The intended readers will need to have an existing WordPress.com account. Once they do, you can add their WordPress.com username to the list there.

Thanks! Yes, I learned this. Too complicated to invite friends who must open an account ….thanks! ALicia
