Removing unwanted widgets
-
I have some unwanted widgets (Like, Follow, Search) that are not listed under the Footer Areas on the Widgets screen. I tried adding a blank Text Widget to each footer area as was suggested on one of the Help pages, but it made no difference. How can I remove the unwanted widgets?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you referring to the blog linked to your username? If so I cannot see any widgets in the footer at all. Manifest doesn’t display widgets by default, it has support for two widget areas in the footer. To activate those, you just need to drag your widgets there.

Yes, that is the blog I was referring to. There is a “Like” widget, a Search box at the bottom, and a Follow tab off on the right, all of which i would like to remove.

Hi there,
To disable the like button Settings > Sharing
http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#like-button
http://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/#turn-likes-onoff-on-specific-posts
If you’d rather, you can turn the display of the after-post Like controls on or off for specific posts on your site. http://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/#turn-likes-onoff-on-specific-posts -
To disable the follow button Dashboard > Settings > Reading > Follower Settings
Note: you need to clear your browser’s cache and cookies after you disable those two.
