removing widget from sidebar…

  Hi there. Can I remove the ‘recent posts’ widget (and that list of posts) from my sidebar? And if so, how? I have removed other widgets but this one doesn’t want to leave. Thanks…

  Dashboard>presentation>widgets. Grab it and drag it to the Available Widgets box in the bottom. Make sure you save your change.

  The other day, I tried a new widget and then changed my mind and saved the change (the deletion), but it took 2 tries to make it show up in the blog as removed. Maybe the browser sometimes uses a stored copy? Or maybe for some reason the save didn’t work. Try again – and possibly again!!

  I also didn’t remove widgets from sidebar when i used IE6.
  Changing a browser to FireFox the problem was resolved.

  The sidebars are cached, which is why sometimes they continue to show. And IE6 is notorious around these parts for not playing nice with WordPress.
