removing wordpress from dns
-
I removed my site from wordpress and changed the dns named servers to point away from WP but im still getting an error.
You can’t get there from here (site_id mismatch error). This happens when an external blog (a self-hosted blog using the Jetpack plugin) is pointed to WordPress.com by DNS.
If you are trying to migrate away from WordPress.com, please update your DNS to point the domain to your own server.
Otherwise please contact WordPress.com support and explain what you were trying to do, what steps you took, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened.

@brewea I’m not seeing that with the domains you had here previously. I just see a blank apache page for the main domain, a 404 for one subdomain, and a DNS error for the other subdomain that likely doesn’t have any settings yet.
If you just recently made the DNS changes, my guess is you need to allow a few hours for the internet to catch up with your settings. Typically this is done within about 4-6 hours, but I’ve seen it take up to 72.
Turning your computer off and on again can help clear its local DNS cache, and that may be enough to fix this for you.
If you’re on a managed network, like in an office, you might disconnect your phone from the company wifi and then try visiting the site. If you get the expected result on your phone, but not on the company internet, the network admin is likely storing DNS cache a bit longer than usual to optimize internet speeds there. You could talk to them about it, or just wait til tomorrow.
And, if you’re on an ISP and still seeing the wrong page after a day, I’d recommend calling them to see if they need to clear cache on their side.
Good luck!
